Lace & Fingering Weight

Lace weight yarn is the thinnest classification of yarn, categorized as category 0 (Lace). It is an ultra-fine, delicate thread designed for intricate, web-like lacework. While it looks intimidatingly thin on the skein, it is traditionally knit on larger needles than expected to create open, ethereal, and dramatic openwork patterns. It can also be held together with other yarns to create texture, color and halo to a project.

Fingering weight yarn is a beloved, ultra-lightweight staple widely celebrated in the sock and garment-knitting communities. Classified as a category 1 (Super Fine) yarn, it is slightly thicker than lace weight but finer than sport weight. It produces a delicate, fluid fabric with an elegant drape and crisp, intricate stitch definition. Because of its lightness, garments made from fingering weight are highly breathable, making it perfect for year-round wear. It is the absolute go-to choice for fine-gauge socks, heirloom shawls, lightweight cardigans, and delicate baby garments.
